Welcome to the Memory and Emotion Laboratory in the Department of Psychology at Sarah Lawrence College.

We are broadly interested in examining cognitive and neural changes associated with exposure to traumatic stress.

We are currently carrying out studies examining changes in autobiographical memory, future thinking, and self-efficacy in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) using behavioral, psychophysiological, and brain imaging (fMRI) techniques.

We are also testing new methods to help reduce symptoms associated with PTSD and other mental health issues guided by findings from cognitive neuroscience.

The Memory and Emotion Laboratory is directed by Adam Brown, Psychology Faculty at Sarah Lawrence College, and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the New York University School of Medicine.
